Notetree — Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Notetree handles your information. In short: the app runs on your device and communicates only with the Nextcloud server you choose — we, the developers, never receive your data.
We do not collect your data
Notetree has no backend of its own. The developers do not collect, store, receive, or sell any of your personal information, notes, or usage data. The app contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Your login credentials
When you connect an account, Nextcloud issues a revocable app token — your password is never seen or stored by the app. Tokens are kept in the operating system's secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore) and are used only to authenticate requests to your server. You can revoke a token at any time from your Nextcloud account settings.
Data stored on your device
Your collectives, pages, and any media you open are cached in the app's private storage so it works offline. This data never leaves your device except when synchronizing with your own server.
Camera, microphone and photos
Notetree asks for access to your camera or photos only when you choose to add an image or video to a page or note; the microphone is used only to record sound for videos you capture. The selected or recorded media is uploaded only to your own Nextcloud server. The app never uses these permissions in the background, and you can revoke them at any time in your device settings.
Data on your Nextcloud server
Notes you create or edit are synchronized only between your device and the Nextcloud server you connect to. That server is operated by you or a third party and is governed by its own privacy policy and terms — not by us.
No third parties
The app makes network connections only to the Nextcloud server(s) you configure. It does not send data to the developers or to any third-party service.
Your control over your data
Removing an account from the app deletes its cached content and its stored token from your device. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. Content already synchronized to your server must be managed through Nextcloud.
